Hi,
Even though their is a standard button provided to convert a quote into PDF format, but many times we want to create a custom button to convert a quote into PDF by selecting the different template from the Quote Template’s. To overcome with this problem just follow the following steps.
1. Create a new Quote Template based on the standard template or as per your own wish.
2. Create a new Button on the Quote page layout and select “Content Source” as URL.
3. In the URL value, enter the following URL
https://na15.salesforce.com/quote/quoteTemplateDataViewer.apexp?id={!Quote.Id}&headerHeight=180&footerHeight=130&summlid=0EHi0000000Cpho
please do some changes in this URL such as :
a) enter the “summlid” value from the URL of your PDF template created in step 1.
b) adjust the header and footer height according to your need.
3) click save and add this button to your Page Layout.
and finally you are able to convert Quote’s to PDF format by using your desired PDF Template.
